How to Fix the Windows 11 File Explorer Glitch – A Guide from Black Bear MSSP
From the Desk of Black Bear MSSP
If your business has upgraded to Windows 11 version 24H2, you might have encountered an annoying glitch in File Explorer.
File Explorer, the tool you rely on to browse files and folders, usually operates seamlessly. But some users are facing issues with the “See more” menu, marked by the three dots icon. Instead of appearing below the cursor with options like “Select All” or “View Properties,” the menu is flying to the top of the screen—sometimes disappearing entirely. In full-screen mode, certain options may even become inaccessible.
Here’s the workaround:
Switch File Explorer to windowed mode by clicking the square icon in the top-right corner (next to the “X” used to close the window). Resize the window as needed, and the “See more” menu should become usable again, even if it’s not functioning perfectly.
The good news? Microsoft is aware of the issue and is working on a permanent fix.
